Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS)
About Us
Founded in 1982, Peace Lutheran Church serves Milbank and the surrounding area with Christ-centered worship, Bible teaching, and fellowship rooted in God’s Word.

Our story
A congregation built on the Word—and built to serve
In January 1982 a group of Lutherans belonging to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod met in Milbank to discuss forming a congregation. They chose the name “Peace” and by February had begun to hold worship services.
Initially they worshipped in rented spaces including the old laundry mat. But by 1988 they had acquired their present location and built their first worship facility. In 2013 they dedicated their current sanctuary and the original building was remodeled to be a fellowship hall and classrooms. Since 1992 Peace has shared a pastor with St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mazeppa.

““It is a joy to know the mercy of our Lord and a privilege to be able to share it with people. No matter how big our problems or how great our sin, the Lord’s love is bigger. He sent Jesus to be our Savior and through him forgives our sins. That’s how much he cares for us!””
